The (continued) institutionalisation of censorship

Lest the ISA and the lèse majesté law not be sufficient to shut down free speech in Thailand, Prachatai reports that the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology has asserted that the “2007 Computer Crimes Act will be amended to allow Internet Service Providers to immediately block ‘offensive’ web pages on sight or upon complaint without court orders or requests from the MICT.”

9,600 pages have currently been blocked by the MICT. Apparently this is not enough.
