More on Korn and TG

PPT commented yesterday on a claim by a Puea Thai parliamentarian that Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij and members of his family had received upgrades and extra baggage allowances from Thai Airways. We commented that it might seem like a storm in a teacup, but that it was an example of how privilege has been operating in Thailand.

Now the story seems to have grown and it seems that the Puea Thai Party is getting inside information from Thai Airways. The Nation (29 December 2009) reports that Korn and his wife have received “14 upgrades were beyond what was allowed for Gold Royal Orchid Plus members…”. If this is true, Korn and Vorakorn have received very special consideration indeed and well beyond the gift certificate upgrades provided to Gold members.

Maybe this is a story to watch.
