New Mandala on human rights, monarch and military

Readers who haven’t yet seen them, might find some of the recent posts at New Mandala of considerable interest. Two that caught PPT’s attention were: “The deep political crisis within the Royal Thai Army officer corps” (27 April) on the queen and the splits in the army, and “The betrayal of human rights mandarins” (26 April). The latter takes up some of the issues related to human rights agencies operating in Thailand, noting their poor track record, including Amnesty International, which has a lamentable record.
