The Bangkok Post has a short story drawing attention to the Abhisit Vejjajiva regime’s security priorities. According to Pattani mayor Pithak Korkiatpithak, the “government is now paying more attention to the Preah Vihear temple dispute than the ongoing violence in the three southernmost provinces…”. He might well have added that they are paying more attention to protecting the monarchy and defeating red shirts than the situation in the south.
