Somyos has international support
PPT has previously reported on international solidarity activities for Somyos Pruksakasemsuk, jailed for alleged lese majeste offences. He’s been incarcerated since 30 April, with no indication of a court appearance upcoming and bail refused. This is becoming standard practice for the royalist Abhisit Vejjajiva regime.
Prachatai reports that this support continues and indicates activities by workers and activists in Indonesia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Denmark and Australia.
These international protests submit letters to Abhisit “demanding the release of Somyos and all political prisoners.” They also urge the Thai government to “stop using Article 112 of the Criminal Code, to abolish censorship laws, to reform the military and judiciary, and to punish those responsible for the killings in April and May last year.”
