We love soldiers
Now that’s a headline! We thought PPT readers would be disappointed to know that they missed the We Love Soldiers Party down at the HQ of 1st Field Artillery Battalion, King’s Guard.
True, there aren’t many details in the report but the pictures in the account tell much the story. What a chance! Decked out in green and camouflage patterns – oh! so very trendy! – readers might have been able to feel at one with the Army that has been working big time on its PR since the floods reached its political constituency in Bangkok.
You could have felt good about partying to raise money for flood victims or you could have given them some old clothes or a box of dry noodles. We wonder if any of the revellers thought about the Army’s role in years of repression and state-sanctioned murder? We very much doubt it.
