15 09 2012

Friends and comrades supporting lese majeste detainee Somyos Prueksakasemsuk have circulated this:

Deepest thanks to all organizations, concerned people, friends and comrades from all over the world who had sent endorsement to the letter call for the release of Somyot. All of you had conveyed such clear and heart felt solidarity message to Somyot and his family, also others who are working for his release and other political prisoners.

The letter is here. They add:

19 Sept 2012 is the 6 years anniversary of the day that the coup illegally overthrew the legally voted government and implement repressive anti democracy rule in Thailand.

It is a day also that Somyot will be brought to the criminal court in Thailand to hear his case again. The case that he has never committed any wrong doing in defending the freedom of expression and democracy in Thailand. Yet, he is make to be political prisoner.

We remain the position that his arrest is political indented and is an act of suppressing all the pro democracy progressive movement in Thailand.

The judgments on his case will be significance to reflect how democracy and justice exist in Thailand today.

The world is watching on the decision of this Trial of Justice!

We will continue to press for his and other political prisoners of Lese Majeste Law to be released regardless what will be the result of the decision on 19 Sept 2012. Please continue stay with us till they are being released.
