Chuphong Thithuan

Chuphong Thituan hosts an anti-monarchy radio program “The way out for Thailand” broadcast at times on community radio but mainly via the internet, and he has been accused of lese majeste. His case is คดีพิเศษที่ 398/53 (Special case no. 398/53). See further information on the program here. Chuphong’s case goes back to 2009 when the internet radio program was first inaugurated.

Another lese majeste case was laid as Special Case / คดีพิเศษที่ 46/54 Chuphong and Amnuay Kaewchompu / อำนวย แก้วชมภู (Wood Site New York / วู้ดไซต์ นิวยอร์ก) for publishing and posting a story considered to contain allegedly malicious content attacking the monarchy.

For a time, Chupong was believed to be hiding. He recently arrived in San Francisco to join Anek Chaichana in launching the Thai Alliance for Human Rights. The organization was to be launched with Chupong Thithuan on 14 October 2012.
