Sondhi gets a lese majeste break

3 04 2010

In an earlier post, PPT mentioned that prosecutors had decided to proceed with Sondhi Limthongkul’s lese majeste case, and had requested that police bring him in. Another report, from the Public Relations Department’s National News Bureau (2 April 2010) states that the “Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) has adjourned its decision on whether to proceed with a lèse-majesté charge against key leader of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD), Sondhi Limthongkul, for another one month.  Mr Kayasit Pitsawongprakan, Chief Prosecutor for Criminal Litigation, disclosed today that the case postponement came after the lawyer of the defendant had submitted a petition requesting for a special committee to interrogate additional witnesses.”
