Human Rights Watch has issued a statement demanding the lifting of the emergency decree. It coincides with Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva’s visit to New York.
HRW says the decree allows the “Thai government still uses emergency powers to suppress fundamental human rights…”.
Read it all and understand that the Abhisit government is no defender of human rights or democracy.
