Prachatai reports that the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation will close “unregistered community radio stations, some of which are divisive and offensive.”
Defence Minister and CRES Director General Prawit Wongsuwan heard from intelligence agencies that “movements of various political groups…”. CRES spokesman Colonel Sansern Kaewkamnerd “said that the police reported the … community radio stations … [some] which presented content that was divisive to society and offensive to the monarchy.” All would be closed.
Readers should also note Prawit’s earlier statement on military personnel using websites that were anti-monarchy. Clearly, all elements considered anti-monarchy are being pursued and repressed.
