Updated: Bureau of Investigative Journalism on lese majeste

20 08 2011

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism that is a “not-for-profit organisation based at City University, London, that bolsters original journalism by producing high-quality investigations for press and broadcast media.” It has a very useful account of Joe Gordon’s case and other recent lese majeste cases at its site, titled “The King and I: Thailand’s lese majeste laws linked to political persecution.”

The article includes some interesting links, including this one to a discussion on lese majeste in July we hadn’t seen before, hosted by Thailand Mirror.

The Bureau says it will be closely following lese majeste in Thailand.

Update: Interestingly, Robert Amsterdam has also noted the link we noted above from July, featuring Pravit Rojanaphruk. The video and related parts are worth viewing.
