Joe Gordon’s bail request refused again

7 10 2011

Somsak Jeamteerasakul posts a comment at New Mandala which states that lese majeste victim Joe Gordon has had yet another bail application refused.

Somsak says that: “I understand that this is the last time Joe and his lawyer are asking for bail, as it’s obvious that there is no use.”

Like Somsak, PPT believes that the message is clear: plead guilty or stay in jail for a long time as the trial is dragged out.

This has become standard palace and seems backed by the palace.

It is time for the U.S. government and so-called human rights agencies like Amnesty International to make public statements that seek to have Joe released.

We don’t expect they will, but they should move on this obvious case of human rights abuse.
