PPT wishes all of its readers – even those in the government censorship “war rooms” – a very happy and prosperous new year.
When we began this blog, those associated with PPT didn’t think that almost three years on we’d still be campaigning for the end of lese majeste repression and the release of political prisoners. The fact that we are says a lot about the decline of Thailand’s politics since the military putsch of 2006.
In the past year, PPT had its biggest year to date, with more than 350,000 page views. On average, we have had more views in 2011 than in 2010, despite the fact that 2010 saw so much political turmoil. When we get to our third year anniversary, we’ll say more about the statistics.
Apart from our regular pages listed at the top of the blog home page, our most widely read posts were:
Wikileaks/คนภายในวังเล่าเรื่องในหลวงให้ทูตฟัง, Floods and politics I, Crown Prince’s plane seized in Munich, Of Wikileaks, Fu Fu and succession (ภาษาไทย), Wikileaks on the prince/วิกิลีกส์: บันทึกทูตสหรัฐถวายบังคมลาฯ ในโอกาสพ้นจาก, Navy submarines resurface, More royal brilliance?, Wikileaks, the queen and the 2006 coup, Wikileaks, politics and the Crown Prince (and more), Wikileaks: Abhisit welcomes the coup, Rich royal disappointed by Lords of Acid
This listing is, at best, pretty rough as all hits to the homepage get listed as that and not by the post read, readers will note that Wikileaks posts were popular. We still have several of them to come.
[…] We thought readers might be interested in some statistics on PPT over the past three years. To date we (auspiciously) had more than 888,000 page views at our main site and the mirror we use when PPT is blocked. Average page views increased between 2010 and 2011, and average nearly 1,000 a day. Not surprisingly, the months of heaviest traffic were April and May 2010. Even so, total page views increased in 2011. We posted earlier on the most popular pages/posts. […]
