The lese majeste trial of political prisoner Somyos Prueksakasemsuk continues.
On 13 February Somyos will be shackled and chained as he appears at the Songkhla Provincial Court. Somyos has a group of international observers and supporters who have been active in observing and monitoring his various court hearings and will also be in attendance in Songkhla.

Meanwhile, Somyos’ son Tai will be on hunger strike on 11-16 February, during the week of his father’s hearing in Songkhla. This action is taken because of the continued refusal of the Criminal Court to release Somyos on bail, most recently denied on 9 February. More information here.
