Princess no more

13 12 2014

Princess goneIt was only a question of when. And now it is done. The Bangkok Post reports that the king”has allowed the wife of … Vajiralongkorn to relinquish her royal title…”.

The statement was signed by the king on Thursday and was in the Royal Gazette on Friday. The statement makes outlandish claims: “The King has granted permission to announce that Princess Srirasmi, the wife of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, has informed in a written document that she has resigned from her royal status…”.

Next, the official divorce will be announced and the prince’s 4th wife will be installed and she will climb the slippery pole to be a princess.

Given that numerous of her relatives languish in cells and several face feudal lese majeste laws, we doubt that she willingly did anything in this case. Arguably the most dysfunctional royal family since that in Nepal, Thailand’s royal family struggles from one crisis to another.
