The Bangkok Post reports that Malaysian police, after having been said to have captured two Bangkok bombers, has now taken into custody a further eight, being investigated for a connection with the bombings.
Under a headline “Malaysia detains 8 in connection with Erawan bombing,” readers are later told that the Malaysian police have no evidence of involvement by the eight.
Meanwhile, the Thai police are as confusing and confused as ever. The police chief General Somyos Pumpanmuang doesn’t know what his deputy is doing.
As the Malaysian are arresting people traffickers, we can’t help wondering whether the Thai police are most interested in making things murky.
At this point, it seems that the Thai police have bungled, obfuscated and blundered through yet another event that needed professional investigation.
