The Bangkok Post reports the Royal Household Bureau that has announced the king’s “fever has gradually dropped after being treated with antibiotics and physical therapy…”.
It goes on to say that “[s]pecial laboratory tests showed no infection while blood tests indicated infection had eased and joint infection had disappeared…”. It states that the royal doctors have “stopped applying antibiotics intravenously but still gave the drugs to reduce infection.” In addition, he continues to receive oxygen and physical therapy.
It is pretty much the case that the king has had fever, infections and been on oxygen since mid-January. For an aged man, this means chronic illness and slow decline, arrested only by the zealous efforts of the royal doctors.
