The United Nation’s Committee on Enforced Disappearances gave the Cambodian government a deadline for explaining the disappearance of Wanchalearm Satsaksit. As expected, the deadline passed with not a word from the regime in Phnom Penh, at least that Wanchalearm’s family knows of.
In addition, two months after the enforced disappearance, Wanchalearm’s family has heard nothing from the Thai or Cambodian governments. The family states: “There is no indication that they have done any investigation.”
The implication of this inaction is to confirm that both regimes are complicit in the enforced disappearance and his likely murder.
