With new king-preferred haircuts, it was widely reported that yesterday “[p]ro-democracy activists Arnon Nampa and Phanuphong Chadnok were today freed by the Criminal Court following five days in Bangkok Remand Prison…”.

The police say they withdrew their detention request “because their investigation of the two men had gathered enough facts.”

According to AP, the two remain committed to their political goals:

“We will go on with our movement as previously planned, it will be moving forward to some other issues,” Arnon told reporters in front of the prison after his release. “And we will definitely join in the protest on Sept. 19 and others.”
