Police arrested Pornchai Wimolsupawong, a 38 year-old Mae Hong Hon resident, in front of a condominium building on Rattanathibet Road in Muang district on 10 March 2021 on lese majeste, sedition, and computer crimes charges.

Pornchai was said to have been arrested for several alleged offenses: one for an act in front of Maejo police station in Chiang Mai, another for spray-painting a fence outside apolice station on 18 November 2020 and another for allegedly setting fire to a picture of King Vajiralongkorn and other material in front of the Criminal Court on Ratchadapisek Road in Bangkok on 6 March 2021. Pornchai is also accused of similar offences in Yala.

He is also alleged to have posted photos and videos of his actions on Facebook, using the account name Mario Chinrxe.

Pornchai has denied all charges and refused to give a statement and he was transferred to Maejo police station.

Police were said to be preparing other cases against him, said to have been committed in Bangkok.

He was reported to have been bailed on 22 April 2021.
