While the details remain a little vague, Thai Newsroom reports that the Ratchadapisek Criminal Court has convicted two men on lese majeste charges.

Chaiamorn Kaewwiboonpan, a popular singer known as Ammy the Bottom Blues, was slapped with four years in jail without parole on 112 and computer crimes charges.

Thanapat Kapeng aka “Poon” was sentenced to one year in jail without parole.

Both appear to have applied for and have been granted bail, presumably to appeal.

The prosecutor alleged that “on the night of Feb. 28, 2021 the defendants and their accomplices set fire to a Royal Portrait of … King Rama X in front of Klong Prem prison [and] then published images of the incident on Chaiamorn’s Facebook page “The Bottom Blues.”
