One of the main focuses is on the recent death of a Thai activist, Netiporn ‘Bung’ Sanesangkhom, who went on a hunger strike to protest against her imprisonment. She was charged with lèse-majesté charges. Her death may or may not change the lèse-majesté situation. But it has already caused a huge impact on the overall state of human rights in Thailand. This special report summarises the current lèse-majesté situation in the country.
