Royal World Thailand recently posted on more awards for the king’s women. It is an “interesting” list as it includes, along with the queen and a living daughter, a seemingly posthumous award and another to an on-off lover and exiled consort. The awards are for great contributions to the military by untrained part-timers who are relatives of have been in the king’s bed:
Thai Royal Gazette published a royal decree stating that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn awarded the Chakra Mala Medal to members of the Royal Family:
● Her Majesty General Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana
● Her Royal Highness General Princess Bajrakitiyabha, The Princess Rajasarini Siribajra
● Her Royal Highness General Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya
● The Most Noble Royal Consort Lieutenant General Sineenatha Bilasakalyani
The Chakra Mala Medal is a medal awarded to those who made great contributions to military affairs. It was established by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in 1882. The Monarch awards the medal to royal members, along with military and police personnel who have been in service for more than 15 years.
This palace continues to be a very strange place.
