Not in Thailand! Impossible in a neo-feudal state. In the Caribbean. The Australian ABC has a podcast:
A number of Caribbean nations are voicing their desire to throw off the shackles of colonial rule. In December last year, Jamaica tabled a bill to become a republic and cut ties with the British Monarchy. The country’s Prime Minister, Andrew Holness has promised a referendum by the end of 2025….
In Australia itself, it was only in 2024 when Australian senator Lidia Thorpe, an Aboriginal Australian woman, heckled King Charles, accused predecessors of genocide yelled: “This is not your land, you are not my King.” She wasn’t jailed as would certainly be the case in Thailand, but was chastised by parliament. King Charles remains king of Australia.
