Vigilantes responsible for another 112 charge

Thai Lawyers for Human Rights report that on 27 March 2025, Jiradee (pseudonym), a 35-year-old, who was arrested by police officers from the Crime Suppression Division at her Bangkok workplace on Article 112 charges.

The arrest was made under a warrant issued by the Phatthalung Provincial Court on August 28, 2023 and followed yet another complaint from a member of an ultra-royalist vigilante group filed with the Khuan Khanun Police Station.The case stems from social media posts and messages in September 2022.

Jiradee was taken to Phatthalung to be charged, before being sent to the court for detention, where the court later granted her bail.

In February 2023, Jiradee had received a summons from the Khuan Khanun Police Station and in March 2023 she met the investigator as summoned, with the police questioning her as a witness. Following that, there was no further summons or contact from the police. Jiradee did not know that the court had requested an arrest warrant.

On 28 March 2025, accompanied by TLHR lawyers, Jiradee was taken to the Khuan Khanun Police Station. Jiradee denied all charges. At first, police did not allow bail causing her to be detained overnight.

On 29 March 2025, Jiradee was taken to the Phatthalung Provincial Court where she was granted bail, with a 100,000 baht surety, provided by the Ratsadon Prasong Fund.
