Royalist Chaiyan dumped

Thai Enquirer Facebook delivers news that, even in the current bleak political environment, cheered us.

It reports that retired Chulalongkorn University “academic” and royalist ideologue Chaiyan Chaiyaporn has been booted out of the selection process for Constitutional Court judges.

As a biased and politicized court, it seems that Chaiyan’s hard-edged bias was too much and his “vision” presentation apparently failed to impress.

The post adds:

Two candidates have advanced: Sutham Cheurprakobkit, a lecturer at Mahidol University, and Sarawut Songsivilai, former Director-General of the Department of Highways. Their names will be forwarded to the Senate for a vote.

We can’t imagine the Court being reformed, but at least we don’t have to deal with the arrogance of a royalist snitch.
