Right-wing royalists arrested

Reuters reports that a bunch or right-wing royalists have been arrested. Sadly, this was in Germany, not Thailand.

The report states that police arrested four members of the group that is “seeking to replace the modern German state” with a Kingdom – Koenigreich Deutschland. The authorities said the far-right movement was “a potential threat to democracy.”

The Interior Ministry “banned the group, which prosecutors said had established shadow institutions for a new state in line with a far-right ideology known as the ‘Reichsbuerger’ movement.” Members of the movement “believe that German democracy is an illegitimate facade and that they are citizens of a monarchy which, they maintain, endured after Germany’s defeat in World War One, despite its formal abolition.”

In December 2022 the authorities “thwarted advanced plans for an armed coup” attributed to these ultra-royalists, a group that is considered a “criminal network.”

In Thailand, the right-wing and ultra-royalists are in cahoots with the authorities.
