Thai Enquirer reports that parliament has passed the third reading of the Amnesty Bill, formally known as the Peace Promotion Bill.
The bill specifically excluded those charged under Article 112 but has “a clause allowing rehabilitation instead of prosecution for offenders under 18.”
The bill now goes to the conservative Senate for consideration.
The bill covers all political “crimes” between 1 January 2005, and 16 July 2025, but excludes 112. The House rejected a People’s Party proposal that 112 be included by a vote of 184–133, reflecting the royalism of the government and the spinelessness of some opposition parties.
