Prachatai reports that lese majeste political prisoner Arnon Nampa has been nominated for the 2026 Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) Human Rights Award.
The report states:
He was nominated for the Award by the Law Society of Ireland and the Bar Council of Ireland, both of which believe that Anon should be released and allowed to return to work as a human rights lawyer.
The CCBE Human Rights Award is given to lawyers or lawyers’ organizations that have “demonstrated outstanding commitment and sacrifice” to uphold fundamental values and human rights. It is given each year by the CCBE President at its Plenary Session.
