Updated: Murder in 2010

Still, no one has ever been held accountable. The military killed scores of people and injured hundreds.

Below we have a link to the pages PPT maintains on the April and May events.

Some of the links are dead and some of the videos have been removed, but the gist of these events and the nature of the state’s violence remain.

Update: From Thai Enquirer Facebook page:

The lower house Committee on Legal Affairs, Justice, and Human Rights has established a working group to review and reform the justice process addressing state repression of civilians. This follows persistent failures to deliver justice for protesters killed by soldiers, including those killed during the Red Shirts crackdown 15 years ago.
People’s Party MP Sasinan Thamnithinan, deputy chair of the committee, described the May 2010 massacre as one of Thailand’s gravest human rights violations, resulting in numerous deaths. Yet, to date, victims’ families and those affected have not received justice under Thai law.
Widespread public distrust in the justice system and a culture of impunity—where perpetrators of human rights abuses remain unaccountable—have deepened political divisions in Thailand over the past two decades.
