The idiotic military clashes between Thailand and Cambodia have exposed the fact that the military still control power in Thailand, despite claims that Thailand has a “civilian democratic government”. The clashes may be idiotic, but they have had deadly consequences for the civilians and low-ranking soldiers caught in the conflict. So far more than a dozen civilians have been killed on both sides of the border.
