There’s been a few recent Whale Hunting reports that reveal secrets:

Related, Singapore’s role in scamming has been given a light touch, especially when the city-state is generally seen as efficient and law-abiding:

27 Singaporeans, 7 Malaysians wanted for being part of scam syndicate operating in Cambodia

But, ahead of Thailand, Singapore authorities have seized assets:

Singapore police seize over S$150 million in assets as part of money laundering probe into Cambodia’s Prince Group

One might guess that because it is big shots, probably including some in the gangster coalition, that there’s little appetite for seizing assets in Thailand.

Our link to Ji Ungpakorn on the death of the old queen caused a reader to write about the Sirikit and the south. Ji stated she “could never stop urging Thais to use violence against the Malay Muslims in the South” and he pointed to Wikileaks discussions.

Many claim to know about Kru Se and the massacre there. Some point to Thaksin Shinawatra, some to various high-ranking military officers, and some to another high-ranked person. From a 2022 academic article:

The name of who might have given the order to kill was whispered to me on several occasions at Kru Se. However, I have no means to independently verify this information, plus the question of “Who gave the order to kill?” is not really a question but something known but not to be talked about because of a certain legal issue in Thailand. My interlocutors said they could not reveal what this legal issue is—but they “knew” I “knew.” They also said the authorities “knew” that they “knew.” As renown Thai peace scholar Chaiwat Satha-anan pointed out immediately after the horrendous event, perhaps it was something that cannot be revealed (2004).
