While Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is providing cover for scammers (see our previous post), the Bangkok Post reports that gangster minister Thammanat Prompao’s Kla Tham Party is trying to silence the only politicians really targeting scammers, the People’s Party.

The gangster party “will petition the Election Commission (EC) to dissolve the People’s Party (PP) over allegations it appointed a student as an MP’s aide and funnelled the aide’s salary into party memberships.” They want the party dissolved (and silenced).

We have no idea if the claims have any substance, but such appointments are a huge source of largess for all parties and Kla Tham MPs appoint unqualified relatives and friends and even a scammer’s lawyer (who says he’s now off the case…).

But the point here is to harass the People’s Party and to stop its MPs from doing useful work, something that Kla Tham hates.
