PPT wants to draw attention to iLaw’s important page that counts the days of incarceration for those on charges under Article 112 (lese majeste) and Article 110 (sedition). These are Thailand’s political prisoners.
It is a sad listing of the dozens of people who remain in prison under laws that infringe freedom of expression. More than this, it is a list that includes many young people who sought reform in society, politics and of the monarchy. In this sense, it is a list of political repressions.
Today, the longest incarceration was 1,023 days or coming up for three years.
