Post-it 112

22 01 2026

Prachatai reports that Chukiat Saengwong, also known as Justin, now 34, has seen the Appeals Court overturn the Criminal Court’s not guilty verdict on a lese majeste charge.

He has now been sentenced to prison on a 112 conviction for “allegedly attaching a piece of paper with offensive words to a portrait of King Vajiralongkorn in front of the Supreme Court during a protest in 2021.” The note stated: “For dumping filth and rubbish!”

Chukiat was arrested on 22 March 2021, and detained during the investigation stage and was only released on 1 June 2021.

On 15 June 2023, the Criminal Court dismissed a sedition charge and the 112 charge as “no witness or evidence proved that Chukiat committed the crime as alleged.”

The prosecutors appealed and on 19 January 2026, the Appeal Court sentenced Chukiat to three years in prison and revoked the probation imposed by the Criminal Court.

This would appear to be yet one more verdict with no evidential basis.
