Undead princess report II

19 08 2025

After no reports on Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s “health” for more than two years, suddenly there’s one and then another report from the palace over a few days.

The latest report from the Royal Household Bureau is its fifth, with 3 of these around the time of her initial collapse. Since then she has been kept on machines at Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.

The latest update claims that the Princess “continues to suffer from low blood pressure.” It says that doctors are “administering medication to support blood pressure, along with antibiotics, renal replacement therapy, and assisted respiration.”

These Royal Household Bureau raise questions beyond “health”.

The expulsion of Vacharaesorn Vivacharawongse in June was significant in terms of succession. Some saw him as a “pretender” to the throne, and his behavior suggested as much, albeit accompanied by a penchant for grifting. That “clean-up” is now rumored to be a part of palace factionalism and may possibly include dealing with the issue of Bajrakitiyabha’s “health”.

Succession was claimed to be a crisis for the palace when Vajiralongkorn came to the throne. That “crisis” looks minor now, with the current king only having one male and one female heir, both from non-royal mothers. Neither has much support.
