Hunting Ben

Whale Hunting continues to chase Benjamin Mauerberger/Smith.

In a new story, it is stated that Mauerberger/Smith, on the lam from Thailand, where his multi-party connections across the political spectrum fell apart (thanks largely to Whale Hunting), has ” sold his superyachts to shell companies, fired the world’s most prestigious yacht manager, and disappeared into the Indian Ocean.”

The story explains:

In the weeks before a Thai court ordered the seizure of [a piddling] 12 billion baht ($340 million) in assets connected to his money laundering empire, the South African fugitive executed one of the most audacious maritime deceptions we’ve ever documented. He sold his super yachts to shell companies, fired the world’s most prestigious yacht manager, and disappeared into the Indian Ocean.

Multiple sources have confirmed to Whale Hunting that Mauerberger was aboard the Wanderlust, his 85.3-meter expedition yacht, as recently as the past few days. The vessel’s transponder has been switched off intermittently over the past month, as Mauerberger seeks to sow confusion as to his location.

We are guessing that his contacts at the top of the new coalition government (including Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of Bhum Jai Thai and Thaksin Shinawatra, the puppet master at Puea Thai) and in the opposition (like Thammanat Prompao of Kla Tham Party) remain twitchy. No doubt they are keen for this to be another epic of Thailand’s elite reaping rewards in grey areas fading as soon as possible.
